less is more...

The Key Club at Negaunee High School was collecting clothes for the victims of the 581 Fires. My basement has been driving me crazy and I was waiting for a rainy day to do this and today was that day! 9 BAGS OF CLOTHES FROM MY BASEMENT....where did they all come from! Aubri and Sheena helped me go through totes and the closet and then we hauled them all up to the high school. 1/2 of my basement is still a mess but 1/2 of that 1/2 is my husbands workshop, I gave him until Saturday to get it cleaned up or I was going to do it for him (if I do it lots will go out with the garbage!). Plus the box in the corner I still need to mail to "Hope's Closet" downstate, they collect prom/evening dresses and give them to low income families...now that box just needs to get to the post office! :)

Camp part III

Aubri and Sheena went for a walk and here are some of the random pictures Aubri took!

Camp Part II

My crazy children! Steven, Tyler and Aubri actually jumped into Lake Arfelin (Sheena and I stayed in the sauna!)...that water is way too cold yet!

Camp...Memorial day weekend part I

this was the first memorial day weekend in a long time that it was nice...my dogs met a new friend. A newfoundland just came wandering into the yard, slobber and all! Lola of course was afraid and came running into the camp...

I love this old picture...

It's so funny, I was just about to post this picture and my cousin Pat called (she is the 2nd from the left!). The first boy on the left is my cousin Ken, then his sister Pat, then my mom (Cheryl), my uncle Bruce and my cousin Sandra.

I ABSOLUTELY love old pictures and will do some blogging soon of those...

One more with a permit....

Derick passed his written part for his drivers permit and Steven brought him to the secretary of states office to get his permit! one more in this house with a permit! pray for me...

Aubri playing softball...

You gotta love the girl with the lime green socks! :)

Steven "25 years"...

This was Steven's Recognition dinner for 25 years of service! Great meal, had our picture taken (no one will ever see it!) and it was the first time in a VERY LONG time that it was just the two of us! Whew, 25 years, thats a long time...I covered up the rest of the names, I don't know if they would appreciate being on my blog!

Senior Prom :)

This story was on the WLUC TV6 website and it's about my great-aunt and great-uncle and they were crowned King and Queen, i think this is just wonderful! (and it was the day after Sheena's prom!). I will have to find a picture and add it to this post!

NEGAUNEE -- Close to a hundred seniors took advantage of the opportunity to relive prom memories.
On Sunday, the Negaunee Senior Center hosted its first-ever senior prom, and the event was a hit, to say the least.
With music by Tiny C. Hart and the Hart Beats, couples danced the afternoon away.
They'll be able to cherish this special event for many year's to come because there was a photographer on hand capturing all the fun.
But for some, this dance was the best they've ever attended.
"This is my first prom at 84 years old," said Carrie Hoiem.
Carrie and her husband were even crowned queen and king of the senior prom before the event came to an end.

My niece Brianna...

Brianna playing t-ball...it's so hard to not laugh hysterically! Most of the kids were busy playing in the dirt, throwing their glove up in the air, facing the other direction, etc :) That's Tyler's team in the back in the red uniforms so I got to see part of Bri's game and then on to Tyler's...

Aubri's black eye! May 11, 2009

This is what happens when you "attempt" to catch a grounder, it hits your shoe and pops up to your eye (she was playing catch with her dad :) )...this was day 2, it's getting darker by the day!

Tyler at his tennis meet April 29, 2009

Tyler playing tennis, notice the date, yes the same day as Aubri's track meet. I'm glad the track is right next to the tennis court so I could run back and forth...

Here are 2 more completed purses (I have 2 more to make, material is cut out I just have to sew them)...I bought some labels to add to my "crafts", I think I will have some made. Does anyone know someone who makes labels (or a website)???
