Snow day, November 12

• slept in til 9:30
• yoga
• shoveling

Snow day, November 11

• slept in until 9:30 :)

night class...CANCELLED !

yes, my 6 - 9:20 class is cancelled due to weather. Just what I needed

my birthday and a SNOW DAY

So i took today off, i usually do take my birthday off. It was also an "inclement weather day" for NMU.  Here is what i did on MY day…

• started my day off on the tread climber
• went to start my car but the battery was dead. Called my great neighbor and he came to save the day. 
• I ran to the bank AND got the question right. Ok so it was easy, every week they ave a question hanging in the window, if you get it right you get a mini candy bar. Who was Mickey Mouse's dog? Pluto. again i say it was easy
• Next to Holiday gas, i had two gas coupons so i gave one away. I bought a $5 bingo scratch off and won $5. Now the dilemma is, do i keep the $5 or buy another one….hmmm
• Kevin and Kennedy came over for coffee
• Tyler woke up and we headed to Applebee's for lunch, we were only the 2nd table occupied. I had all you can eat soup & salad, Ty had a burger and we had the spinach/artichoke dip to start off. 
• Stopped at Michaels on our way home to return something and get poster frames
• Stopped at Family Video and got : Last Vegas (funny), Wolverine (good) and Two Guns (with Mark Wahlberg)
• picked up my girls and we went to Midtown for cake (Aubri and Sheena had lunch)
• home for a little snooze with my lola
• ate leftover applebees for dinner
• relaxed and watched my movies, such a great day !

NMU is closed due to inclement weather, 1st one,  here is my day:

• woke up at 6:15, went back to bed til 9
• shower and coffee, Facebook message to Heidi 
• I started to cut out one of the two jackets i am making for the girls from leftover fleece i have. I was laughing as i was laying out the pattern. When i told aubri i was going to make them she said "what are we the VonTrapp's?"
• went through sheena's tote full of school memories and put the ones she wanted to save in the binder below. I have a stack to laminate for her and she threw some out. Now it's organized, oh how i love organization

• border grill for dinner
• did some laundry
• i watched "Fire with fire" with Josh Duhame and Bruce Willis, it was pretty good

snow day ! 3-11-13

Ok so it was only 1/2 day but as of today we have had 5 days, 2 hours off WITH PAY. that my friends is an extra week of vacation! here is what i did today...

• woke up to phone call from NHS saying school was closed
• went downstairs and told aubri
• went back to bed, woke up to text from NMU saying NMU was closed til noon
• went back to sleep, woke up at 11AM
• took shower and went to work

it was amazing!

February 20th, SNOW DAY # 4

Yes I received a wonderful text at 5:19 am this morning "NMU is closed today 2/20/13 due to inclement weather. A decision on evening classes will be made by 2pm today".

HOT DAMN i love to receive these text messages. I had some ambition today...

i woke aubri up to tell her school was cancelled and she crawled into bed with lola & I.

when she woke up she placed an order for pancakes

 sheena had lola outside while she was shoveling and her little webbed paws were packed with snow when she came back in

 i finished my quilt for a grad present for this spring, i would much rather be ahead of things than rushing at the last minute.

• returned some things to Cattron's
• put a new zipper in Steven's jacket
• picked up Subway for dinner
• balanced gram's checkbook
• finished laundry
• balanced my own checkbook
• watched some TV
• cleaned the kitchen
• shoveled
• drank a huge diet pepsi (steven ran for gas last night and i begged for one for my snow day that i was gonna have :)

great day to be a wildcat today and for once my 3 college kids agree with me :)

Feb 19, NMU closes at 1pm

not a whole snow day but i'll take a 1/2 day. Here's what i did:

• got home about 1:30 pm
• shoveled
• cleaned up the kitchen
• laid on the couch and took a 1 hr nap
• worked on my quilt for a little
• did some laundry
• ate some amazing pizza from Pasqualis
• laid on the couch some more
• shoveled some more
• ORDERED "THE" PROM DRESS for Miss Aubri !
• went to bed about 9:30 in anticipation of a snow day tomorrow 

i had no ambition to use this snow day to the fullest, i just wanted to be lazy

cold day part II, 1-23-12

NMU was closed AGAIN today ! I am still trying to stay motivated...

• took a shower (sheena did too thank god!)...this is a big deal in my house i guess
• ran some errands
• snyders to pick up aubri's prescription (that health savings debit card sure is wonderful!)
• super one for some groceries
• beef-a-roo for aubri
• cattron's for parts for my loom
• made mac & swine for lunch
• ran a bath for aubri, man is she sick!
• worked on the t-shirt quilt
• cleaned out my closet

cold day, 1-22-13

so today was a cold day - 31 wind chill and NMU was closed today :) 3 college students & 1 NMU employee were EXTREMELY happy about this. NHS was cancelled last night so Aubri was already in the clear.

Here is what i got accomplished:

• slept til 10:30 am (i had been at the ER with aubri until 12:15 last night so i was praying for a cold day)
• went to the grocery store, bought fruit for juicing and chicken for Tyler for lunch
• stopped and filled up with gas
• ran to Meyers to check on some samples for tyler
• tyler juiced (apple, orange, lemon & broccoli) & aubri juiced (2 oranges, 1 lemon & 1 inch ginger)
• ran to my neighbors to bring him wood to cut for the loom i am making
• did some mending
• made some blonde roast coffee (Starbuck beans) and it is GOOD
• laundry
• started t-shirt quilt, laid out all the squares, sewed 2 rows
• subway for dinner
• drank a diet pepsi
• lysine & abreva because i am getting an effing cold sore
• made Sheena & Tyler take Echinachea 
• steven came home feeling like he was going to throw up
• watch Prison Break with Tyler
• even though aubri has an upper resp. infection she worked on cleaning her bedroom. She did an AMAZING job and her room is perfect!

well it's back to work tomorrow. We were sent home on Thursday the 20th of December at 3pm and then friday the 21st was a snow day! Great start to the christmas break, which ran December 24 - Jan. 2nd.

I really enjoyed this break and I was very lazy ! Here are some of the things i accomplished:

• finished cleaning/organizing the basement
• organized and went through all my fabric
• 2 trips to Vinnie's to drop stuff off
• finally made it to Rare Earth Goods in Ishpeming, a new co-op that opened. i "liked" them on facebook and she sent out a message needing walmart bags, i just happened to have 2 full bags to donate. It's a really nice store, check it out people
• watched almost the whole first season of Prison Break, with Aubri, it was great being a couch potato
• took all the christmas stuff down today. 
• cleaned my house, even vacuumed in the furniture. there were enough crumbs to feed a small village
• organized my pantry/threw out old stuff
• cleaned bathroom cupboards & cleaned out/threw away old stuff from medicine chest
• caught up on laundry
• started to re-arrange my bedroom
• had 1 hangover
• christmas with my family. The book we gave Em "goodnight ipad" was a big hit, along with us all teasing Aubri about her "shirt". on a side note, adding velvetta chunks to your green bean casserole makes it AMAZING !
• Aubri got the role of Maria in the sound of music they are doing at the high school in March/April and i really am so PROUD 
• got some great stuff for christmas from my kids & husband
• was spoiled ROTTEN by my friend Kathy & she made me feel really cheap! I got a nice gift from my friend Lisa, too
• took the dogs for a walk with their new "leader" collars. I am hoping this will make them easier to walk. it went ok for the first walk
• ate too much, probably gained 5 pounds
• slept in until 11am almost every day and stayed up past midnight or later every night
• i watched "unknown" with Liam Neeson and it was really good !
• i drew a picture for my husband for christmas
• had two peppermint mochas from mcdonald's, yeah i recommend them
• i have a pile started to make my first rag rug whenever my loom is finished, i should say started
• aubri cleaned her room. she is gonna be so busy over the next 2 months she will have to stay organized
• sheena purged her closet
• watched the NCIS marathon on 29th
• got take out from border grill & bee-a-roo
• went grocery shopping

i guess i did more than i thought after typing all this

February 29th, a leap day SNOW day

since i have been WAAAIITTTIIINNNGGG for a snow day i was not going to waste it, here's what i did:

• woke up, realized it was a snow day, damn near screamed! went back to bed, couldn't sleep, got up, made bed
• got some coffee, worked on cross stitch
• started painting in kitchen
• took a break, went outside did some shoveling
• ate lunch, diet pepsi
• brushed the dogs teeth
• folded some laundry
• fixed the futon (when i say fixed i mean zip ties) & it's now in Sheena's room
• all the above done before noon
• finished quilt
• did all mending
• took loft apart that we did not use, hopefully Stev can use the wood to build stairs
• cleaned in basement, put seasonal decorations away
• touched up paint in aubri's room & spackled
• shoveled A TON with sheena
• made fondue
• my husband comes home from work with his hand behind his back, he brought me home a shamrock shake
• finally sat down at 5:59
• finished cleaning in basement
• finished sanding & touch up paint in Aubri's room
• finished cross stitch (1 down, 1 to go)
• watched 1 recorded NCIS, 2nd diet pepsi
• 8:40 pm, watching Criminal Minds and then to bed

SNOW DAY!!! and kitchen update

first snow day of the year 11-10-11

snow started on wednesday, we saw 3 cars in the ditch on our way home, 1 was on its roof. I got home and made dinner right away. Good thing cause the power went out at 6:45 and didn't come back on until 10:45, that's the longest its been out in a LONG time. I lit candles, Aubri and I cuddled on the couch to keep warm. We talked about bizarre things, laughed and i really enjoyed it!

Snow day!

We had our first snow day, December 9th (NMU was also closed) and then the kids were off on December 10th also! We got all this snow in one night!!!
