February 20th, SNOW DAY # 4

Yes I received a wonderful text at 5:19 am this morning "NMU is closed today 2/20/13 due to inclement weather. A decision on evening classes will be made by 2pm today".

HOT DAMN i love to receive these text messages. I had some ambition today...

i woke aubri up to tell her school was cancelled and she crawled into bed with lola & I.

when she woke up she placed an order for pancakes

 sheena had lola outside while she was shoveling and her little webbed paws were packed with snow when she came back in

 i finished my quilt for a grad present for this spring, i would much rather be ahead of things than rushing at the last minute.

• returned some things to Cattron's
• put a new zipper in Steven's jacket
• picked up Subway for dinner
• balanced gram's checkbook
• finished laundry
• balanced my own checkbook
• watched some TV
• cleaned the kitchen
• shoveled
• drank a huge diet pepsi (steven ran for gas last night and i begged for one for my snow day that i was gonna have :)

great day to be a wildcat today and for once my 3 college kids agree with me :)

i've had the ingredients since december to make these, finally did tonight...
i have a couple things going on here, steam cleaning carpets, painting, scrapbooking...
quilt i need to start, martha wants to help i guess....

well it's official...i have 2 quilts hanging in a store front window, with "contact me for a quote". we'll see how it goes

quilt i made for baby Em using some of his grandpa bruce's clothing...

tooth fairy pillowcase, i made the pillowcase and the "E" is from a stash of A - Z paddington bear fabric that was my mothers (so Em's great aunt)

i made this one for my nephew Phil who just graduated from Seymour High School, WI. It turned out great, well I think so anyways

Aubri's quilts

Aubri posing with the first quilt I made her (& Grandpa Emmett's shop glasses) and her t-shirt quilt! There's even a furry piece from her "Toto" costume I had to make for her for Halloween!

Sheena's quilts & duvet cover (with matching pillow case)

The first quilt I made for Sheena is the one she is posing with. My mother had so much fabric that I had enough scraps to make 5 quilts (one for each of my children and 1 for my friend Heidi)! The other quilt is her t-shirt quilt and the duvet cover is a patch quilt made with fabric she picked out!

Derick's t-shirt quilt

I have sewed 3 rows today but still need to get 3 more done before this Thursday for Derick's birthday party. No problem, this is the 5th t-shirt quilt I have made and will be my last for awhile. I will post a picture when it's all done. I think I will go back and take pictures of all the other quilts I've done...just for fun!
